Sheri Pate, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a rich educational background and a passion for mindfulness and emotional wellness. Holding a BA in Psychology from UCLA and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Cal Lutheran University, Sheri has further enhanced her expertise with training in Emotional Freedom Technique, Mindfulness, and Crisis Intervention.

Sheri's approach to therapy is deeply influenced by her personal journey towards being present, patient, and calm—a transformation she achieved through self-reflection and mindfulness. Known for her calm demeanor, Sheri has honed the ability to maintain tranquility even in crisis situations. She believes in being less talkative and more introspective, a philosophy that shapes her interactions with clients.

Drawn to the field of Marriage Family Therapy by her innate desire to help others, Sheri's path was illuminated by a friend's observation of her altruistic nature. Growing up in San Gabriel, CA, near Los Angeles, Sheri's childhood was steeped in community service, influenced by strong female role models like her mother and grandmother. Her father, an advocate for women's equality, instilled in her values of integrity, joy in competition, and the importance of excelling in all endeavors. This nurturing environment, coupled with an emphasis on being a good person rather than material success, laid the foundation for Sheri's career and life philosophy.

In her practice, Sheri focuses on experiential mindfulness practices, guiding clients to become aware of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. She believes the key to wellness lies in being mindful, self-aware, accepting, and non-judgmental, especially towards oneself. Sheri is committed to accepting clients as they are, assisting them in identifying and implementing desired changes.

Sheri continues to find fulfillment in her role as a therapist, a profession where she feels most herself and at her best. The challenges and learning opportunities it presents are vital to her personal and professional growth, enabling her to share her gifts more effectively.

Outside of her professional life, Sheri engages in activities that reflect her commitment to mindfulness and self-care. She enjoys meditating with a neurofeedback device, playing tennis, bike riding, and volunteering. These pursuits not only keep her grounded but also align with her therapeutic approach.
