Good physical health is paramount to feeling happy. It’s why PERFiC starts with Physical Health.

Physical health issues that are significantly impairing your quality of life may understandably lead to concurrent mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Whether you’re experiencing physical health problems or in great shape – we could all benefit from better nutrition.

Our experienced nutritionists will work with you to develop a healthy plan designed to heighten your mental acuity and improve your physical performance and health.

Nutrition Philosophy

“Diets do more harm than good. Many people mistakenly believe that nutritionists put people on diets. Our approach is different. We don’t believe in counting calories, strict meal plans or monitoring weight. What we do believe is that food is one of the greatest joys in life. Food is love, passion, creativity, enjoyment. And of course sharing a meal can be a wonderful social experience enabling you to connect with those you care about.

Unfortunately for some, these positive food experiences have been clouded by confusing and conflicting nutrition advice, body image pressures and the billion-dollar weight loss industry – which tells us we need to look a certain way to be happy and healthy – which is simply not true!! My mission as a nutrition professional is to help people develop a positive and balanced relationship with food and to learn to love and trust their bodies. We aim to shed light on the conflicting world of nutrition advice and help people to nourish and respect their bodies through healthy food and lifestyle choices, without restricting, dieting or any rigid food guidelines!”

Move. Sweat. Smile.

Today’s healthcare model is one that is primarily focused on treating people once they’re sick. Modern medicine has not done the best job of focusing on how to help people become and stay healthy and happy. There is significant and growing evidence that engaging in regular physical exercise is vital to being truly happy. Some studies have shown that regular physical exercise can even be more effective than an antidepressant. And let’s be honest – if you’ve ever been reluctant to get to the gym or lace up those sneakers before a run – when you were done, how good did you feel?

We simply were not designed nor evolved to live the sedentary lifestyle that is commonly associated with the lifestyle most of us live in the 21st century. We have to move. We have to sweat. We have to workout. While there are so many different ways to move and sweat today, for those clients in the Los Angeles area, we highly recommend you check out Training Mate. Founded by former professional rugby player, Luke Milton, this high intensity workout will help you sweat, smile and make some friends. For information on rates, visit their site directly. Their first class is free and like Luke says, you can do anything for 45 seconds! We agree!

If that’s not motivating enough, consider this your first prescription – we are prescribing you physical exercise!
