Cassandra Jones is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides thoughtful, trauma-informed, and individualized care. Deeply attuned and intuitive, Cassandra approaches each client with curiosity, honesty, and compassion, creating a nonjudgmental space where people can feel genuinely heard and understood.
Cassandra grew up in San Clemente, California, and was drawn toward a life of service, caregiving, and supporting people through difficult moments. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with specialized training as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her professional journey has included nursing, military service in the Air Force Reserves, a deployment to Afghanistan, and clinical experience in emergency, psychiatric, and high-acuity settings. Together, these experiences gave her a deep appreciation for the ways trauma, chronic stress, and demanding environments can affect individuals, their relationships, and their families.
As a combat veteran and the spouse of a first responder, Cassandra has a particular passion for supporting veterans, first responders, and their loved ones. She understands how easily people who are accustomed to being strong for others can become used to pushing through their own struggles or minimizing what they are experiencing. Her goal is to create a space where clients do not have to perform, have everything figured out, or wait until they are overwhelmed before asking for support.
As a mother of twins, Cassandra also has a special interest in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the emotional complexities of early motherhood, including the unique demands that can accompany raising multiples.
Cassandra believes strongly in seeing the whole person rather than simply a diagnosis or collection of symptoms. She takes time to understand what may be happening beneath the surface as well as the relationships, environment, occupational demands, past experiences, and current stressors shaping a client's life. She meets clients where they are rather than where they believe they are “supposed to be,” working collaboratively from that starting point.
Her approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cassandra also values psychoeducation and practical strategies that clients can realistically incorporate into their everyday lives. Beyond helping clients find relief from immediate challenges, she seeks to help them better understand themselves, recognize patterns, strengthen coping skills, and become active participants in their own care.
What continues to inspire Cassandra is seeing how meaningful mental health support can extend beyond one individual, positively influencing relationships, families, and the future. She finds it especially rewarding to watch clients reconnect with parts of themselves that may have been overshadowed by trauma, stress, or years spent simply surviving, and begin to feel more hopeful, capable, and present in their lives.
Outside of work, Cassandra is deeply family-centered and enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children, including family outings and trips to Disneyland. Service remains important to her, and she has volunteered on medical missions in Latin America supporting surgical care for underserved communities. She also enjoys studying the history of psychiatry and Victorian medicine and writing about trauma, resilience, identity, and healing.
