Dr. Michael Measom is a Psychiatrist who brings a thoughtful, collaborative, and client-centered approach to his work. Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Michael spent much of his early life asking questions about how things worked—an insatiable curiosity that initially led him to study physics. But after the profound loss of a close friend, that curiosity shifted toward understanding the human experience—how we behave, learn, and evolve. This journey ultimately led him to pursue a career in psychiatry.

Dr. Measom earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Southwestern University, followed by a Master of Education from the University of Texas. He completed his medical degree at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas and received his psychiatry residency training at the University of Washington. His academic background reflects a deep appreciation for both the sciences and the art of human development.

At the core of Dr. Measom’s clinical philosophy is the belief that the therapeutic relationship between client and provider is one of the most important factors in long-term outcomes. He prioritizes building authentic, trusting connections, and encourages open, honest dialogue in every session. His approach is grounded in meeting clients exactly where they are—emotionally, psychologically, and developmentally—before collaboratively developing a treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Dr. Measom typically spends the first few sessions getting to know each client, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood. From there, he integrates tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic theory to support insight, self-awareness, and meaningful change.
Described by others as curious, thoughtful, and kind, Dr. Measom finds great fulfillment in helping clients move closer to the lives they envision for themselves. The opportunity to walk alongside people during times of growth, struggle, and transformation continues to inspire and motivate him.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Measom enjoys disc golf, hiking, reading science fiction, and exploring museums. He’s also a coffee enthusiast who takes great pleasure in perfecting his morning brew. Whether in or out of session, Michael brings a sense of curiosity and presence to everything he does.
