Dr. Sean Oldak is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who brings curiosity, compassion, and grounded presence to his work. Raised in South Florida in a multicultural environment, Dr. Oldak developed an early appreciation for the complexities of identity, culture, and the human experience. His path to psychiatry was shaped by a deep intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to connect meaningfully with others.
Dr. Oldak earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and went on to complete his medical training and residency in general psychiatry at the University of Miami. He later pursued advanced fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry with a focus on psycho-oncology, deepening his understanding of the mind-body connection and the psychological impact of chronic medical illness.
Known for his thoughtful and trauma-informed approach, Dr. Oldak integrates evidence-based practices with relational and psychodynamic principles. He values the therapeutic relationship as a space for genuine connection and believes in working collaboratively with clients to explore patterns, promote healing, and rediscover parts of the self that may feel lost or obscured by illness.
Clients working with Dr. Oldak can expect a steady, empathetic presence and a deep respect for their story. He does not take a one-size-fits-all approach, but instead tailors care thoughtfully, always listening with intention and meeting clients where they are. His work is rooted in humility, clinical rigor, and a sincere commitment to helping others feel more empowered, understood, and connected.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Oldak finds joy in the everyday: reading fantasy and literary fiction, exploring new music, and watching baseball—a lifelong passion that offers him calm and reflection. Most of all, he cherishes time with his wife and their two dogs, finding grounding in simple routines like evening walks or cooking dinner together. These quiet moments serve as a reminder of what truly matters and why the work he does is so important.
