Growing up in southern Connecticut, Dr. Finstein was deeply influenced by his close-knit family and early experiences witnessing the impact that mental health challenges can have on loved ones. Those experiences inspired a lifelong interest in understanding the human mind and behavior and ultimately led him to pursue a career in psychiatry.

Dr. Finstein earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut before completing his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) at Kansas City University of Medicine. His educational background, combined with his natural curiosity and compassionate approach, has shaped a practice centered on helping clients achieve meaningful, lasting growth.

Dr. Finstein believes that mental health is about far more than overcoming symptoms—it is about discovering what allows each individual to thrive and building a life that feels fulfilling and authentic. He works tirelessly alongside his clients, helping them identify their strengths, navigate life's challenges, and move toward their personal goals. His approach is collaborative, supportive, and individualized, recognizing that every person's journey is unique.

Drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Dr. Finstein incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed care. He believes that therapy plays an essential role in helping individuals gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful change.
Clients often appreciate Dr. Finstein's adventurous spirit, optimism, loyalty, and dedication. He strives to create a welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

Outside of work, Dr. Finstein enjoys staying active through hiking, camping, traveling, and playing soccer. He also has a passion for collecting coins, trading cards, and antiques. Above all, he values spending time with his family and building genuine connections with the people around him.
