Dr. Anthony Mattioli is a psychiatrist who takes a holistic, person-centered approach to mental health care. He grew up in the small town of Hartland, Michigan, where his early interest in medicine was shaped by a deep curiosity about the human mind. After discovering his passion for psychology in high school, he knew psychiatry was the path where he could make the greatest impact.
Dr. Mattioli earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Neuroscience, with an additional major in Psychology, from Michigan State University. He went on to complete medical school at Kansas City University and finished his psychiatric residency at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital in Michigan.
With a style that is passionate, attentive, and kind, Dr. Mattioli prioritizes a patient-centered approach—working collaboratively with each client to understand their lived experience and build a tailored treatment plan. He views patients as active participants in their care and emphasizes the importance of psychoeducation to empower informed decision-making.
His treatment philosophy is rooted in the belief that psychiatric care must address the whole person; not just a diagnosis or set of symptoms. While medication can be an essential part of care, Dr. Mattioli also highlights the value of sleep, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and meaningful social connection. His goal is to help clients build resilience, improve cognitive functioning, and achieve emotional balance through comprehensive, evidence-based treatment.
Dr. Mattioli is especially drawn to the time psychiatry allows for meaningful conversation and connection. He finds deep fulfillment in witnessing the growth and progress of his clients as they navigate their mental health journeys.
Outside of his work, Dr. Mattioli enjoys running, playing bass guitar, playing video games, and spending time with friends, family, and his cats. His grounded, personable style helps clients feel at ease, making the therapeutic process both collaborative and compassionate.
