Laurie Lambert is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides thoughtful, compassionate, and individualized care. Kind, curious, and approachable, Laurie is committed to creating an environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported as they work toward their mental health goals.
Laurie grew up in a close-knit community on Long Island, New York, where the importance of family and community was deeply instilled in her from an early age. Coming from a Haitian family that includes physicians and nurses, she was surrounded by healthcare while also witnessing the ways outdated beliefs and stigma surrounding mental health could create barriers to understanding and seeking support. Recognizing this contrast sparked an early interest in mental health and ultimately inspired Laurie to pursue a career where she could help make compassionate, informed care more accessible and understood.
Laurie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Her education and clinical experience have strengthened her belief that meaningful care begins with listening to the individual and understanding the experiences, circumstances, and goals that shape their life.
Humility is central to Laurie's approach to care. She believes that being a strong clinician means recognizing that no one has every answer and being willing to ask questions, seek guidance, and collaborate when needed. She brings that same openness and curiosity into her relationships with clients, creating a space where they can speak honestly about what they are experiencing without fear of judgment.
Above all, Laurie wants each client to leave their interactions feeling that the connection was genuine and authentic and that meaningful progress is possible. She understands that mental health goals can sometimes feel distant or overwhelming and strives to help clients recognize their strengths, identify achievable steps forward, and feel supported throughout the process.
Outside of work, Laurie believes that movement is its own form of therapy. She loves being outdoors, whether hiking, relaxing on the beach, or swimming. She also enjoys reading and finds joy in cooking delicious meals for family and friends.
