Doctor of Medicine
Dr. Arnav Pondicherry, MD, is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who is passionate about helping individuals live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. His approach is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and a strong belief in the mind-body connection. With a background in biomedical engineering and rigorous psychiatric training, Dr. Pondicherry brings both scientific depth and human warmth to his practice.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Pondicherry was inspired to pursue medicine by his uncle, a cancer researcher whose dedication sparked his early interest in the sciences. This, paired with a fascination for the brain and behavior, naturally led him to psychiatry—a field he values for its holistic nature and its relevance to all aspects of human life. He believes mental health cannot be separated from one’s physical health, culture, or environment, and he brings this integrated perspective to every client relationship.
Dr. Pondicherry completed his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Rutgers University and earned his medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He went on to complete his psychiatry residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he deepened his knowledge of evidence-based therapy approaches.
In his clinical work, Dr. Pondicherry specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies, with a particular focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based CBT. He works collaboratively with clients to help them align their actions with their values, build sustainable practices for long-term well-being, and develop greater self-awareness. He avoids quick fixes and instead supports his clients in cultivating lasting change through consistent, intentional effort.
What truly keeps Dr. Pondicherry engaged in his work is the endless complexity and richness of the human experience. He enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships and values the time he gets to spend deeply understanding each client’s unique journey. He approaches each session with presence, purpose, and a commitment to growth.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Pondicherry is an avid meditator and deeply values physical movement. Whether he’s hiking, weightlifting, practicing martial arts, playing tennis, swimming, or baking something new in the kitchen, he brings the same passion and intentionality to his personal life that he brings to his practice.
