Casey Malubay is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and collaborative mental health care. Growing up in Riverside, California, Casey was surrounded by a family dedicated to nursing, with both his mother and sister serving as inspirations throughout his journey into healthcare.
Casey’s passion for mental health was also deeply influenced by his experience growing up with his brother, who has severe autism and mental health challenges. Being part of his brother’s journey gave Casey a personal understanding of the importance of patience, advocacy, compassion, and care tailored to each individual’s needs. These experiences inspired him to pursue psychiatric nursing and support individuals and families as they navigate their own mental health challenges.
Casey earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and began his career providing bedside care in medical-surgical and telemetry settings. During nearly a decade in this environment, he cared for diverse patient populations, supported individuals with complex medical conditions, and developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. He later transitioned into an acute inpatient psychiatric setting, where his commitment to mental health care continued to grow. Casey returned to West Coast University to earn his Master of Science in Nursing and become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Patient, calm, and compassionate, Casey believes healing begins when clients feel heard, understood, and supported. He strives to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and goals while feeling comfortable being their authentic selves. Casey approaches each client with empathy and takes the time to listen, understand their individual circumstances, and build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Casey views clients as active participants in their care and believes meaningful progress is built through collaboration. His approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy principles to help clients recognize patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be affecting their well-being. By combining psychotherapy, education, and evidence-based interventions, Casey helps clients develop practical tools, strengthen their insight, and work toward meaningful and lasting emotional growth.
What continues to inspire Casey is the opportunity to make a positive difference in his clients’ lives. He finds fulfillment in building trusting relationships, supporting people through challenging moments, advocating for their needs, and witnessing them heal, grow, and regain hope.
Outside of work, Casey enjoys strength training and running, watching basketball, and discovering new foods and restaurants. Most importantly, he values spending quality time with his family and creating memories with his young children, whether they are enjoying the beach, visiting Disneyland, or exploring new experiences together.
