Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez is a clinical psychologist who provides caring, empathetic, and individualized support. She is dedicated to building strong therapeutic relationships in which clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. Hardworking and approachable, with a hint of sarcasm, she brings warmth and authenticity to her work while helping clients explore their experiences and pursue meaningful growth.
Dr. Rodriguez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Goucher College. She went on to receive both her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University’s San Francisco Bay Area campus.
Her interest in psychology began at a young age, when she recognized the limited availability of bilingual and bicultural psychologists who could understand and address acculturation concerns and family dynamics in Spanish-speaking communities. She remembers not wanting another young person to feel unsupported simply because no one spoke their language or understood their culture. That experience helped shape her commitment to providing care grounded in empathy, cultural understanding, and genuine curiosity about each client’s individual experience.
Having grown up in several different places, Dr. Rodriguez was exposed to a wide variety of people, cultures, and experiences. Although her parents lived in Florida, she attended high school abroad and in another state. These experiences deepened her interest in the human psyche and the many cultural, relational, and personal factors that shape the way people understand themselves and the world around them.
Dr. Rodriguez believes effective therapy begins with a relationship in which clients feel safe enough to be open and honest. She works collaboratively to identify an approach that fits each client’s individual needs while remaining curious about their perspective and lived experience. She is not a therapist who simply tells clients what they want to hear. Instead, she offers thoughtful and supportive challenges that can lead to meaningful discoveries, greater self-awareness, and deeper insight.
Seeing her clients’ growth and resilience continues to inspire Dr. Rodriguez. She values the opportunity to walk alongside them on their journeys and appreciates how they continually challenge her to learn, grow, and become an even more effective clinician.
Outside of work, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and pets. She also loves traveling and discovering delicious food. Her pets occasionally make appearances during virtual sessions, offering a little comic relief—or simply satisfying their curiosity.
