Celeste Howard-Bourque is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Growing up in the small town of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, Celeste always had a giving spirit and a strong desire to help others. From a young age, she found fulfillment in community service, particularly in initiatives aimed at feeding the less fortunate. These early experiences of engaging in meaningful conversations without judgment inspired her to pursue a career in the medical profession.
Celeste’s educational journey is as diverse as it is impressive. She received her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) degrees, along with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Herzing University. Prior to this, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from William Carey University. Her academic pursuits also included two years of Neuroscience studies at Tulane University and training as a Certified Nurses Assistant and Home Health Aide at Butte Community College in California. Additionally, she spent three years as a Private Investigator in Louisiana, further broadening her skill set and understanding of complex human behaviors.
Celeste believes that every person should be treated with dignity and respect, a philosophy that underpins her approach to mental health care. She emphasizes the importance of listening and working collaboratively with clients to address their issues, ensuring that they feel heard and supported throughout their journey. Her commitment to treating individuals holistically and compassionately reflects her deep-seated Christian values, which also motivate her to continually work on her own personal growth.
Celeste’s dedication to her clients is driven by her belief that mental health care is not just about managing symptoms but about empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Her goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges and find effective solutions together. Her approach is both empathetic and practical, fostering trust and encouraging positive change.
Determined, resilient, and compassionate, Celeste finds joy and balance in her life outside of work through outdoor activities, reading medical investigative mysteries, and actively participating in her church’s ministries. She values the strong bonds within her close-knit family and cherishes their shared dedication to helping others.
