Dr. Justin O’Brien is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who brings warmth, empathy, and a grounded, approachable presence to his work. He believes that healing begins with connection and that one of the most powerful tools in therapy is simply taking the time to talk and truly listen.
Originally from Texas, Dr. O’Brien’s journey into medicine was shaped by his time in the U.S. Army. During his eight years of service, he developed a deep appreciation for human resilience and the importance of mental well-being. It was during this time that he felt called to return to school to pursue a career in medicine, ultimately earning his medical degree and completing his residency in psychiatry at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Texas.
Clients often describe Dr. O’Brien as easygoing, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive. His approach is grounded in the belief that every person is unique, and that therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space to be heard without judgment. He sees himself as a partner in his clients’ mental health journey and reminds them often: “I’m here for you.”
Dr. O’Brien enjoys working with individuals across a broad range of concerns and tailors his approach based on what’s most helpful for each client. He understands that the therapeutic relationship itself can be transformative and works collaboratively with each person to explore challenges, identify patterns, and build practical strategies for change.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. O’Brien enjoys diving into tech projects—particularly those that involve computers and 3D printing. He’s always eager to learn something new and often finds creativity and problem-solving in unexpected places.
Whether you're navigating something specific or just need someone to talk to, Dr. O’Brien’s calm presence and commitment to authentic connection can make all the difference.
