Oluremilekun Olorunsola is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, attentive, and individualized care. Approachable and empathetic, Oluremilekun is committed to creating a welcoming environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment.
Oluremilekun was born in New York and spent part of her childhood in Nigeria. After losing her parents at a young age, she experienced firsthand the complexities of grief, resilience, and the lasting ways difficult life experiences can shape a person. These experiences helped foster a genuine curiosity about people and an appreciation for the importance of having someone who will listen without judgment. Over time, that curiosity developed into a passion for mental health and helping others better understand themselves, build confidence, and navigate life's challenges.
Oluremilekun earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lehman College and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She was drawn to mental health care because of the profound impact emotional well-being can have on nearly every aspect of a person's life. Becoming a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner allowed her to combine her passion for caring for others with her interest in mental health, human behavior, education, and meaningful connection.
Oluremilekun believes clients do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out for support. She recognizes that asking for help can sometimes feel difficult and works to make mental health care feel approachable and empowering. She takes the time to listen, understand each client's concerns, answer questions, and ensure clients feel actively involved in their care.
Her approach is collaborative, individualized, and evidence-based. Rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or list of symptoms, Oluremilekun seeks to understand the whole person, including their history, current challenges, strengths, lifestyle, experiences, and goals. She recognizes that every person's story is different and believes there is no single path toward feeling better. By working together, she helps clients identify meaningful goals and find strategies that fit their individual lives and circumstances.
What continues to inspire Oluremilekun is seeing the meaningful changes clients can make over time. She recognizes that progress does not always have to be dramatic to be significant. Sleeping better, feeling less anxious, developing greater confidence, functioning more comfortably at work or home, or simply beginning to feel like yourself again can have a powerful impact. Being able to support clients through those changes is what makes her work especially meaningful.
Outside of work, Oluremilekun enjoys spending time with her family and traveling together. She also loves watching a good movie, going out to dinner, cooking, shopping, and getting creative with arts and crafts with her children.
