Rebecca Henning received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from University at Buffalo and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification from D'Youville University.

Rebecca grew up in a tiny town called Wilson in upstate New York and has since lived all over the Buffalo area. She was initially drawn to the field as a teenager and her father lost his battle with cancer. She realized after seeing the many medical professionals who helped him and her family that she wanted to do something meaningful with her own life, something with the potential for impact. Her own struggle with mental health and substance use helped her realize her passion for helping others with similar experiences.
.
Before going back to school, Rebecca worked in a hospital. She learned that sometimes people just need someone to talk to, and simply taking the time to be present with them and listen to them can make a difference in their day. Rebecca finds giving back to people and providing help very rewarding and fulfilling. Whether it is performing CPR or simply refilling a water pitcher, it is all worthwhile when one feels their time is well spent helping others.

Rebecca’s goal is to build a strong, trusting connection with her clients and to understand them and their needs and goals. This allows her to use her knowledge and experience to guide them to where they would like to be and to provide them with information and tools to be able to maintain their goals once they reach them. Taking care of one's mental health is a lifelong learning process that may look different at different stages of one’s life. Clients need to find what works best for them.

When she isn’t working, Rebecca enjoys being outdoors and in nature, camping, hiking (currently working on completing the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks), indoor rock climbing, anything that involves being active or creative. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and collecting house plants.
