Izabella Waldo, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Born in Poland and raised in Austria, Izabella has long been fascinated by the intersection of science, the mind, and emotional healing. From a young age, she was drawn to understanding human behavior, the complexities of the mind, and the ways we find resilience through life’s most challenging moments.
Izabella received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University and both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Florida International University. In addition to her clinical work, she has shared her passion for mental health as a nursing instructor, guiding future providers with compassion and curiosity.
Izabella blends evidence-based care with creativity, intuition, and a deeply holistic lens. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her sessions, while also incorporating visualization techniques, mindfulness practices, and relaxation strategies to support emotional healing. She believes visualization can be a powerful tool—helping individuals reshape internal narratives, find calm, and foster personal growth. Her approach is both grounded in science and elevated by artistic sensibility.
Clients often describe Izabella as compassionate, curious, and intuitive. She creates a therapeutic space that is non-judgmental, open, and supportive. Every individual she works with is met with unconditional respect and genuine care. Her goal is to understand the person in front of her—not just their symptoms—and to walk beside them as they rediscover clarity, confidence, and inner balance.
Izabella’s own journey into mental health was inspired by personal growth, emotional insight, and a desire to help others uncover strength within themselves. What keeps her inspired in this work is the privilege of witnessing transformation—watching people reclaim their lives, rediscover their joy, and remember they are not alone.
Outside of psychiatry, Izabella is an artist at heart. She finds beauty in everything around her and expresses it through painting and makeup artistry. For her, creative expression is more than a passion—it’s another form of healing. She also enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and practicing mindfulness and meditation as ways to stay grounded and inspired.
