Dr. Jessie Bangs is a Board-Certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist. She grew up in South Louisiana and has always been captivated by the human experience—particularly the powerful connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Influenced early on by her mother, a dedicated nurse, and guided by her own deep spirituality, Dr. Bangs was drawn to medicine and the field of psychiatry as a path to healing and transformation.
Dr. Bangs earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nicholls State University and a Master of Science in Acupuncture from Texas Health and Science University. She completed her Medical Doctorate and general psychiatry training at Texas Tech Paul Foster School of Medicine, followed by specialized training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Texas School of Medicine. Her clinical approach is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and she continually expands her knowledge by incorporating tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities.
Open-minded, introspective, and naturally engaging, Dr. Bangs aims to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and heard. She views therapy as a journey—not one focused on offering advice, but one centered around helping clients understand their own inner world. Her goal is to foster insight into each person's motivations, values, and goals, with the hope that they will cultivate a deep and lasting relationship with themselves.
What keeps her grounded in this work is the profound connection she builds with clients and the honor of being present as they navigate growth and healing. For Dr. Bangs, each therapeutic relationship is a sacred opportunity to witness human resilience and transformation.
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Bangs finds joy and inspiration in nature, music, writing, and visual arts. She is also deeply committed to activism and social justice, working passionately for the liberation and well-being of all people. Through both her professional and personal life, Dr. Bangs seeks to nurture healing, creativity, and collective empowerment.
