Clinician Spotlight: Erin Berry, PMHNP

When Happier Living’s Erin Berry isn’t working, she can be found creating and performing music, spending time with friends and family, and getting out into nature.

“It’s one of the ways I stay grounded and reconnect with myself,” she says. “Music and time outdoors both help me restore balance and stay inspired.”

Berry describes herself as an artist, vocalist, and musician. She creates darkwave electronic music and performs under her artist name. “Art and music are central to my life,” she says. “They help me explore emotion, transformation, and the human condition. I see creativity as one of the most profound expressions of healing and self-understanding.”

How she got here

It was a few things coming together that drew Berry to the mental health field. “My grandmother had paranoid schizophrenia, and spending time with her as an adolescent left a lasting impression on me and made me deeply curious about the mind and the complexity of human experience,” she says. ”I also always loved literature, philosophy, and art, which led naturally to an interest in psychology. I took my first psychology class in high school and immediately knew it was what I wanted to study further.”

She later earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing and worked as a psychiatric nurse for 10 years before completing her Master’s in Nursing and becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. “That clinical experience continues to shape how I connect with clients and understand the healing process from both a human and a scientific perspective,” she explains.

Resonates with Happier Living’s mission

One of Berry’s favorite parts of working at Happier Living is  being able to work with clients from different states and backgrounds. “It’s like getting to know different cultures within the U.S. every day,” she says “ I also appreciate the flexibility of working from home, which allows me to bring my best self to my sessions and to my creative life.”

Happier Living’s mission to make mental health care more accessible and human-centered deeply resonates with Berry, she says. “I appreciate the focus on compassion, growth, and empowerment, which are values that mirror how I try to live and work every day, both as a clinician and as an artist.”

Berry specializes in supporting individuals through life transitions, creative blocks, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. “I enjoy working with clients who are exploring identity, purpose, and meaning, especially those who think and feel deeply,” she says.

A sacred journey

Berry's intention is always to be fully present, understanding, patient, and compassionate. “I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen,” she says. “When the timing feels right, I like to gently challenge or expand a client’s perspective, offering new ways to think about the patterns or concepts arising in their lives. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I view myself as both a mirror and a guide.”

Berry sees self-discovery as both an art and a practice. “Whether through therapy, art, or daily life, I see each person’s journey as uniquely sacred, and I feel honored to be part of that process with my clients,” she says.
