Clinician Spotlight: Dr. Angela Babadjanian

It was a deep curiosity about the differences between the female and male brain that led Dr. Angela Babadjanian to a career in psychology. “I also really enjoy helping people better understand themselves, their relationships, and their life choices,” she says.
As a psychologist, Dr. Babadjanian is relationally focused, which means she emphasizes the importance of relationships in understanding and addressing a person's psychological well-being. “I view relationships as central to human development and emotional health, both past and present, including the relationship between myself and the client,” she says. She also uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and provides life skills training.
Dr. Babadjanian specializes in providing individual psychotherapy to adults presenting with anxiety and depression-associated diagnoses, as well as issues related to relationships, people pleasing, life adjustment stressors, and perfectionism. “I meet my clients where they are, always. I make sure there’s trust, safety, and unconditional positive regard,” she says.
Dr. Babadjanian appreciates the way Happier Living wholeheartedly values the therapeutic alliance, which has been shown to be responsible for 60% of treatment effectiveness. She is also grateful to be working for a practice that understands both the wellness of the client and the clinician. “I love how supported I feel working here,” she says. “From my clinical case conference team to the scheduling and billing teams, I feel immense empathy and support, which allows me to focus on my clinical work mindfully.”
When she’s not working, Dr. Babadjanian can be found outdoors with her husband and their dogs. “We love a good beach/lake day,” she says. She also loves concerts, Pilates, traveling, finding new local food spots (specifically sushi and ramen), and reading psychological thrillers. “Also, not afraid to admit that I love watching a good rom com!”
