Clinician Spotlight: Dr. Deanna Ryerson

Dr. Deanna Ryerson, a licensed clinical psychologist, has always had a love for learning and working with people. “I find it incredibly rewarding and honoring to see the people I work with overcome adversity and thrive,” she says.
Her work is primarily clinical, she says, with services designed to be flexible, client-centered, and supportive. “Clients are empowered to choose who they want to work with or transfer providers if they are not well matched,” she says.
Dr. Ryerson values the autonomy and flexibility Happier Living provides to help her support her clients, whether it’s through access to leadership when she has questions or the many opportunities to continue her professional learning.
She has extensive experience in assessment, crisis and acute care, substance use, and psychosis. She works exclusively with adults, across a range of presenting concerns including mood disorders, trauma history, interpersonal stressors, and ADHD. This is a diversity of caseload she welcomes. Dr. Ryerson also holds a PSYPACT credential, which allows her to see clients across the United States via telehealth.
Listening is the key to getting to know her clients. “I try to understand their experience and reflect this back to them. I try to keep an open mind and offer a safe space for exploring without judgment or shame,” she says.
Outside of work, Dr. Ryerson can be found gardening, trying new recipes, working out at the gym, walking her dog, or spending time with her children. She loves working on house projects, whether it’s building, fixing, restoring, or landscaping.
